Nootka is a yellow Cedar conifer that grows in Alaska and British Columbia. The tree is of great importance to the indiginous tribes of the Pacific Northwest who use it for many of their carvings and it’s name is from the Nootka Tribe. Nootka's aroma has a warm woody-citrusy aroma with remarkable insect repellent properties. The oil has also shown additional therapeutic benefits as a potent antioxidant.
There are numerous studies indicating Nootka has properties that repel ticks with a high degree of effectiveness.
