St. John’s wort, also known as Hypericum Perforatum, is a flowering plant of the genus Hypericum and has been used as a medicinal herb for its antidepressant and anti-inflammatory properties for over 2,000 years. St. John’s wort has traditionally been used as a natural remedy for depression and issues such as anxiety, tiredness, loss of appetite, and sleep disorders. It’s also used to treat heart palpitations, moodiness, the symptoms of ADHD, obsessive-compulsive disorder, seasonal affective disorder and menopause.
