Ingredients: 100% pure Rose Geranium, Nootka Tree Wood Oil, Cedarwood, and Almond Oil. Mist is in a base of Aloe Vera Juice.
This flea and tick repellant combines three amazing essential oils that all have insect repellant properties. A study published in the Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry found that Rose Geranium essential oil repels ticks with 90 percent effectiveness. Nootka is a yellow Cedar conifer that grows in Alaska and British Columbia. The tree is of great importance to the indiginous tribes of the Pacific Northwest who use it for many of their carvings and it’s name is from the Nootka Tribe. Nootka's aroma is dry woody cedarwood, spicy, and somewhat leathery with remarkable insect repellent properties.
A study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Division of Vector-borne Infectious Diseases concerning all-natural pesticides found that the Alaska yellow-cedar was effective at killing Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, and that the compound nootkatol was a repellant. In a 2014 study, cedarwood oil was significantly effective against ants, red fire ants, and blacklegged ticks. At the highest dosage (6.3 mg/ml), it killed 100 percent of the ticks. An earlier 2011 study also found the oil to be effective at repelling two species of ticks, kills fleas on contact, band can help heal itching and hot spots.
In addition to its flea & tick repellent properties, this essential oil has the following benefits: uplifts mood and promotes focus, relieves anxiety, balances oily skin, acts as an antiseptic, and reduces inflammation.
